Timeline


Students may be admitted to the program for full-time or part-time study. A typical course of study is outlined below for both full-time and part-time study.


Full-Time

Students must register for 9-credit hours of coursework to be classified as full-time.

First Year: Fall Semester

  • MST 6100 Policy and Regulatory Considerations for Scientist and Engineers (Transferable Skill requirement, 3-credits)
  • MST 6600 Applied Statistical Techniques (Advanced Quantitative Skill requirement, 3-credits)
  • Core Course or Elective (Track-specific, 3-credits)

First Year: Spring Semester

  • MST 6200 Professional Development for Scientist and Engineers (Transferable Skill requirement, 3-credits)
  • MST 6210 Operations and Project Management for Scientist and Engineers
    (Transferable Skill requirement, 3-credits)
  • Core Course, Advanced Quantitative Skill, or Elective (Track-Specific, 3-credits)

First Year: Summer Semester

  • MST 6110 Business Development for Scientist and Engineers (Transferable Skill requirement, 3-credits.)

This class is offered during the summer session so students can complete the transferable skills requirements during their first year of studies. Substitution with an approved elective is allowed.

Second Year: Fall Semester

  • Core Courses, Advanced Quantitative Skill, or Electives (9-credits, Track Specific)

Second Year: Spring Semester

  • MST 6975 Professional Experience Project (3-credits)
  • Electives (6-credits, Track Specific)

Part-Time

We recommend students take 6-credits per semester for part-time study. This allows students to complete the program in three years. The Graduate School has a four-year time limit on completing a master’s degree.

First Year: Fall Semester
